Pedro graduated from Fundação Getulio Vargas with a degree in Law and holds master’s degrees in Law from the Insper Institute for Education and Research and King’s College London.
Pedro is a dynamic and dedicated dispute resolution professional who has over eight years’ experience working for leading law firms in Brazil and the United Kingdom. Prior to moving to the United Kingdom to further his studies and to work for Herbert Smith Freehills, Pedro was an associate lawyer at Demarest Advogados and worked separately as a mediator. His experiences as a mediator have led to him developing a deep interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Upon moving to London, Pedro undertook an LLM in International Dispute Resolution at King’s College with a focus on negotiation and the use of technology applied to conflict resolution. Whilst a blossoming career in corporate litigation beckoned, Pedro became increasingly attracted to representing claimants in David v Goliath cases. He left a City law to join PGMBM, playing a critical role in its creation. He immediately began work on the Fundão dam litigation.
In the Fundão dam litigation, Pedro has led the representation of over 200,000 individual Claimants working with leading class action administrators to aggregate and administer claims. Further, he has undertaken a critical role in working with expert witnesses on issues relating to jurisdiction and access to justice.
