Filipe graduated from the Catholic University of Pernambuco with a degree in Law, he also holds an LLM in Tax Law from Queen Mary University.
Filipe is a Brazilian qualified lawyer, specialising in Tax and Private Law. Filipe has over 6 years of legal experience, having worked in some of the most prestigious law firms in Northeast Brazil, reaching the position of Head of the Tax Department at one of them.
In 2018, Filipe was awarded with a Chevening Scholarship by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office to complete his master’s at Queen Mary University. Filipe was elected by the LL.M Office as one of the student representatives for the 2018/2019 school year; in this role he was responsible for organising professional, academic, and social events, and fostering fellow student engagement. Filipe was also elected Sponsorship Team Coordinator for the Brazil Forum UK 2019, a major academic event organised annually by Brazilian students and researchers in the UK aimed at discussing issues that are most relevant for Brazil.
Filipe is a native of Recife, Pernambuco, and has a profound connexion with the people, the culture and the region of Northeast Brazil.
