Rafaela graduated from the Federal University of Mato Grosso with a degree in Law and went on to specialise in Criminal Law and procedure in her postgraduate at the Mato Grosso Public Prosecution School. She also holds a master’s degree in Regulation, Law and Government from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Rafaela is a licensed lawyer in Brazil, where she practiced criminal and administrative law as associate lawyer for five years. Rafaela has experience in regulatory issues, involving environmental, consumer and commercial regulation.
She acted in criminal cases from investigation to the court trial, comprising corporate, white-collar and financial crime cases, such as money laundering, corruption and fraud.
Rafaela has experience in all stages of the Brazilian judiciary and administrative systems, including the Federal Supreme Court [STF], Superior Court of Justice [STJ], National Competition Authority [CADE] and National Oil and Gas Agency [ANP].
